McCain’s Economic Plans
By The Pundit | September 5, 2008
Over the past several days I have been researching the differences between the economic plans of John McCain and Barack Obama and I have to say that I am not very impressed with John McCain. Believe me when I say that I am a long time Republican and have never considered going over to the other side, but after my research I can understand why others do.
It is sad to say, that after spending hours and hours on John McCain’s website, reading through all of the material, I am no more enlightened than I was when I began. It appears that the majority of the content is nothing more than telling us that there is a problem with no solutions. One paragraph was actually rather humorous to read,
“John McCain believes we should send a strong message to world markets. Under his plan, the United States will be telling oil producing countries and oil speculators that our dependence on foreign oil will come to an end – and the impact will be lower prices at the pump.”
I am sure that the member nations of OPEC are going to have many sleepless nights over John McCain’s threat of a strong message.
Throughout the week I watched the GOP Convention and like everyone else, was so impressed with the selection of Vice-Presidential nominee Sarah Palin. I thought maybe the Republicans are making a change to their campaign that is going to make this election winnable, but it still does not have any substance to the issues. We need McCain to layout his plans in specifics, not in generalizations.
In looking at Barack Obama’s Economic Plan, he has listed 41 different items he plans to do to turn around the economy. Do I believe they will work or that they will actually be implemented? Probably not, but it still gives the voters something to work with and I believe that is what voters want.
I believe that everyone needs to contact the McCain camp and demand that they give us more, otherwise it is looking like the next 4 years is going to the DEM’s!
